The hail that devastated the Goričko region was up to nine centimeters thick. How does such a large and destructive hail even form? For a huge hailstone to form, several conditions must be met in the atmosphere.
In three municipalities in the Goričko region, hail damaged almost every roof. At the Šalovci elementary school, it broke the skylights in the gym. Arso has issued a yellow warning for half of Slovenia, where storms are still possible.

Communities in the rural Goričko region of northeastern Slovenia are dealing with the devastation caused by a 3 June hailstorm that has affected at least 200 households and destroyed crops on hundreds of hectares of land. At the Šalovci elementary school, it shattered the skylights. Arso issued a yellow warning for half of Slovenia, where storms are still possible. But as they explained to STA, there is no longer a risk of hail.
