- The Jammu and Kashmir Police's SOG came under fire in Beeranthub on Tuesday morning, trapping four suspected terrorists during the ongoing gunfight.
- Following reports of suspected movement, joint police and army search parties deployed in Beeranthub after locals reported movement of suspected persons.
- Around 7.20 pm, residents heard 10-15 shots, and joint police, army, and CRPF teams rushed to the spot, as IGP Jammu tweeted, `'Exchange of fire took place between terrorists and SOG team in Beeranthub area, PS Kandi, Rajouri.'`
- The whole area has been put under a strict cordon and a search is continuing, while additional forces rushed due to snow-covered terrain reinforce security forces.
- Security forces also launched a cordon-and-search in Dharni top, Basantgarh, Udhampur district, while officials deployed teams to prevent airdropping of narcotics and weapons and increased security in adjoining villages.
