- Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya stated the Drugs Control Administration conducted raids for four months, identifying products made with vegetable oils and chemical additives instead of pure milk.
- As India's leading dairy state, Gujarat aims to protect consumers from misleading non-dairy substitutes. "It was found that analogue paneer is not even fit for consumption and is not a nutritious food," Pansheriya told reporters.
- Violators, including manufacturers, hotels, and caterers, face strict legal action under the Standards Act, and the Government appealed to all food business operators to comply with the prohibition.
- The neighbouring BJP government in Maharashtra simultaneously announced a ban on analogue paneer, making Gujarat one of the first states to completely outlaw these products across India.
