- The gloves are estimated to sell for between $400,000 and $600,000, with Gretzky having scored 43 points in 19 playoff games as the Oilers secured their fourth Stanley Cup title within a five-year span by sweeping the Boston Bruins.
- Following this championship, Gretzky was moved to the Los Angeles Kings prior to the next season and did not secure any further Stanley Cup victories.
