U.S. Customs has accused Giant Bicycles, a Taiwanese company, of "forced labor" and has temporarily detained bicycles and parts manufactured in its Taiwanese factories. Premier Cho Jung-tai stated on November 11 that he will request the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Labor to conduct a comprehensive review of working conditions and labor protections, and to issue guidelines that everyone can comply with.
