Student Named as Victim Killed in Alleged 'Hit and Run'

- On Saturday October 18 the collision occurred on Redbridge Lane East, Ilford, where the driver allegedly failed to stop after striking a 20-year-old man.
- The victim, identified as Yubin Tamang, 20, Nepali student, was named by his family, who posted pleas for justice and shared childhood photos after his death last week.
- At his earlier hearing on October 20 he was initially charged with causing serious injury at Stratford Magistrates' Court, but the indictment changed after the victim died two days later; Ghetts confirmed his name, date of birth and address before being remanded.
- The rapper, who has collaborated with major artists, also appears on Netflix; Ghetts featured in Supacell, which logged 179.6 million hours viewed last year, and won Mobo Awards in 2021 and 2024.
