How many Catholics are there in Germany? The Church has released the latest figures
The two largest churches in Germany – the Catholic and the Evangelical – have once again seen a decline in the number of believers. According to the German Bishops’ Conference, 321,611 people left the Catholic Church last year. According to the data, the church currently has around 19.8 million members – another year below 20 million. Catholics make up 23.7 percent of the total population of Germany.
