Georgia Tech Beats North Carolina to Win 2026 ACC Baseball Championship
On Saturday, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 13-6 at Truist Field to claim the ACC Baseball Championship, with Drew Burress setting a school career home run record.
The Yellow Jackets finished the regular season 48-9 and the Tar Heels at 45-11-1, with this victory marking Georgia Tech's first conference tournament title since 2014.
Alex Hernandez drove in four runs amid a 14-hit offensive performance, while Burress added his 58th career home run and tournament Most Outstanding Player Ryan Zuckerman contributed a solo shot.
Despite the loss, the Tar Heels remain strongly positioned for the postseason; the NCAA Tournament selection committee will reveal the 64-team field and regional hosts on Monday at noon ET.
The victory marks the 10th conference title for the Yellow Jackets, the second-most in league history behind Clemson's 11, positioning both teams as high-seeded contenders for the national tournament.
