Man Arrested After Probationer Garda Stabbed in Dublin
COUNTY DUBLIN, IRELAND, JUL 29 – A garda responding to reports of a man armed with a kitchen knife was stabbed multiple times and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

- The probationary Garda was injured in his upper right arm and his stab vest was damaged, as officers used batons and pepper spray to subdue and detain the suspect, Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary said.
- Following the assault, the scene was preserved and a full investigation has been launched, and an arrested man can be detained for up to 24 hours.
- Speaking to RTE, Mr Cleary assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to their safety in the city, amid circulating misinformation.
