In the 20's of the last century Crevillent, the city of carpet, developed an extraordinary economic drive, which was reflected at a social, business and cultural level. This push brought with it new fabrics, such as the pita, jute or coconut, which were called to replace the traditional esparto and renco with which they were working in the ancient looms of Crevillent.
