Former England captain Bright retires from internationals
- On Monday, Millie Bright announced her international retirement at age 32 on The Rest Is Football: Daly Brightness podcast after earning 88 England caps.
- After withdrawing from England's Euro 2025 squad, Bright said she could not give 100 percent mentally or physically and underwent minor knee surgery and counselling.
- Reflecting on her career, Bright told The Rest is Football podcast, `No-one can make the decision for you, and it sounds cliche but it really is a feeling`, and she said `I want my legacy to be about being a winner- a difference maker.`
- The FA confirmed plans to honour Bright’s contribution at a future home Lionesses international, while Sarina Wiegman called her an `England legend` and a `true leader`.
- Bright has returned to club action with Chelsea and started all seven Chelsea games this season as captain, saying she must prioritise club duties over splitting 50 per cent between England and Chelsea.
