The presidential election at the FIS Ski World Federation was a real thriller. The opposition around Austria, Germany and Switzerland wanted to get rid of Johan Eliasch - and won hunderthin.

Johan Eliasch, the controversial president of the World Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), has been elected. In an electoral crime the billionaire received 64 votes at the Congress in Belgrade - exactly one more vote was given to his opponent Alexander Ospelt from Liechtenstein. His opponent Ospelt was elected for four years.

The FIS-congress in Belgrade is already starting to stir. On Thursday, Switzerland called for a paper election in the election of the president.
