New crosswalk in Malta aims to improve walkability and connectivity

MALTA, N.Y. — The Town of Malta and the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce recently partnered on a ribbon cutting for a new crosswalk along Route 9 between the Malta Town Complex (Town Hall) and Ellsworth Commons. The crosswalk features a mid-block refuge for pedestrians as well as rapid flashing beacons which are solar-powered, to assist pedestrians crossing all lanes of Route 9 safely.
