Poland signs $1.7 billion deal for infantry fighting vehicles

“We are delivering on our promise to invest in the Polish defense industry,” said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland’s defense minister.

The Polish Infantry Fighting Vehicle Borsuk, developed by a consortium led by Huta Stalowa Wola, is entering serial production after a decade of development work. The signing of the contract for the delivery of the first serial vehicles is the beginning of replacing the outdated BWP-1 in the Polish army and a significant step in building modern armed forces.
