- On Monday, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration suspended licenses for 11 food establishments, including five outlets at the Mumbai Cricket Association , following a statewide inspection drive.
- The FDA inspected 45 hotels, restaurants, eateries, and dhabas during the drive, conducted 25 raids, and issued improvement notices to 33 establishments to ensure food safety compliance.
- FDA teams cited the five MCA outlets—Permit Room, Pavilion, Mediterranean, Oriental Swing, and Clubway & Pastry Counter—for violations including inadequate temperature controls, improper refrigeration, poor sanitation, and deficient storage practices.
- Beyond the MCA, authorities suspended licenses for Lenexis Foodworks in Mahim, CafA Cadell in Shivaji Park, China Town Fast Food Centre in Mulund, Morya Misal in Warje, and Saoji Upahar Gruh in Nagpur.
- Regulators shuttered China Town Fast Food Centre in Mulund after detecting artificial coloring, excessive monosodium glutamate , and a cockroach infestation, along with repeated use of highly oxidised cooking oil.
