- In a major counter-terrorism effort, Indian Army Special Forces on Monday killed Hashim Musa, the Pahalgam terror attack mastermind, in Dachigam near Srinagar.
- Under Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched the mission after an intelligence alert in the Mulnar area of Harwan.
- In the encounter, security forces recovered an American-made carbine, an AK-47 rifle and 17 rifle grenades from the site, according to sources.
- Amid celebratory remarks, the Northern Army Commander praised the Chinar Corps for their swift and precise execution, calling Operation Mahadev a great success.
- On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor to target terror sites, during which three terrorists were killed, officials said.
