‘Chinese Police’ Busted in Aussie Suburb
SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES, JUL 18 – A 21-year-old man allegedly used fake Chinese police insignia to justify possession of firearms and ammunition, with 48 live rounds seized by police, authorities said.
- At around 2:50pm, officers spotted the vehicle at Strathfield, found misspelt `POILCE` insignia, and arrested the 21-year-old driver, NSW Police Force said.
- Using bogus consulate papers, he claimed `the best place to store his ammunition`, and held two rifles at his Baulkham Hills home.
- During the search, officers found 48 live rounds in the boot, seized two gel blaster firearms at his residence, and noted `Chinese Police` decals on the passenger doors.
- Following the arrest, his firearms licence was suspended, and he was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.
- He will appear before Parramatta Local Court at a later date on charges including impersonating a public official and possessing unauthorised prohibited firearms.
