In a Pierce County courtroom Thursday, ex-Sumner High School boys basketball coach Jacob “Jake” Jackson was sentenced to 40 years in prison after earlier this year being convicted of sexually abusing eight players.A jury found Jackson guilty on Jan. 30 of 19 crimes, including three counts of third-degree rape of a child and three counts of third-degree child molestation, in a case that underscored how Jackson abused his position of trust.
