Extinction Rebellion now says: announced stink action was an April Fool's joke

There has been a bewildered reaction to a ‘joke’ by Extinction Rebellion (XR), which announced that it would carry out attacks with butyric acid in shops across the country on Saturday. The environmental radicals admitted on Thursday that the announcement, which caused a great deal of commotion and even led to parliamentary questions, was a joke.

The action is part of the national campaign Ode aux Rats, aimed at the fast fashion industry.
