The Paris Court of Appeal opened an investigation into the former head of the EU Border agency on March 24 for potentially participating in crimes against humanity. The former border chief, Fabrice Leggeri resigned in 2022 following allegations of mistreatment of migrants at EU borders. Now a lawmaker for France's far-right National Rally party, he denies the allegations.

The League of Human Rights (LDH) obtained on Tuesday that a judge will soon be seized to investigate Fabrice Leggeri, former director of Frontex, the European body responsible for controlling external borders and in particular to hunt smugglers in the Mediterranean.
