- On Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con, Prime Video announced that actor Matthew Needham will voice the Joker in Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, stepping into the role of the iconic villain.
- John DiMaggio, the show's voice actor, provided a single-line performance as the Joker in Season 1's 'Savage Night' episode. Producers are now pursuing an entirely new creative direction for the villain.
- Showrunners requested a 'European Joker' with a German accent, Needham said. He drew inspiration from the 1928 German Expressionist film The Man Who Laughs, starring Conrad Veidt.
- The upcoming Caped Crusader – Chronicles video game will also feature Needham voicing the Clown Prince of Crime, launching on Amazon Luna on July 31 alongside Season 2.
- Caped Crusader Season 2 arrives as a full binge release on Friday, July 31 on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide under executive producers Abrams, Reeves, and Timm.
