EU’s Entry-Exit System to be fully implemented this week

- French Police aux Frontières conduct checks on British soil at Dover and St Pancras International, yet registration areas remain idle due to persistent connectivity problems on the French side.
- Industry leaders Olivier Jankovec and Ourania Georgoutsakou warned that "the combination of full registration requirements and reduced operational flexibility is expected to place unprecedented strain on border control operations."
- A European Commission spokesperson said the organisation "has been engaging constructively with the industry," while countries may temporarily suspend EES operations for 90 days to manage summer travel peaks.
- Registration with EES provides a record valid for three years, though travelers must also prepare for the European Travel Information and Authorisation System , scheduled for introduction in the final quarter of 2026.
