EU trade chief Sefcovic denies any ties to Jeffrey Epstein following document release

The Jeffrey Epstein dossier also contained several references to high-ranking Slovak politician and EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič. However, he denies having any contact with sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein. His name appeared in the documents in connection with his candidacy for the Slovak presidency in 2019, writes the Brussels-based daily Politico.
Slovakian Maros Sefcovic claims that even if Epstein's name was mentioned, it was without his knowledge or consent.
"I am outraged that my name was used without my knowledge or consent," said Maroš Šefčovič
Slovak EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič categorically denied on Tuesday that he had any contact with American financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He made the statement in response to reports that his name appeared in a new batch of files related to Epstein, which were released by the US Department of Justice last week, TASR reports.
