ZAMFARA STATE, NIGERIA, JUL 25 – Dr. Ibrahim Bello, who ruled as the 15th Emir of Gusau since 2015, died after a brief illness, leaving a legacy of peace and development in Zamfara State.
- The Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Bello, passed away on Thursday in Abuja at age 71.
- After his brother's death, he was appointed on March 16, 2015 by Governor Abdulaziz Yari, and he had served as a licensed nurse in Sokoto and Zamfara States.
- The death was confirmed by Sulaiman Idris, spokesperson to Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, who called the late Emir a dependable monarch, with condolences from Minister Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
- Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Gusau Emirate Council, President Tinubu said, describing the death as a collective loss.
- Governor Dauda Lawal said the loss comes when traditional wisdom is needed, Governor Radda praised the Emir's calm leadership, and Radda added his voice brought peace across Northern Nigeria.
