Bundestag - These Are the Elected Chairmen of the Specialist Committees

The committee chairmen of the new legislature are established – except in the committees assigned to the AfD, where their candidates failed. Among the elected are old acquaintances of the traffic lights. Remarkable: AfD candidates often received votes in favour from other parties as well.

In the Bundestag, most of the 24 specialist committees were formed. The Union as the strongest group now heads eight committees, the SPD has five heads. In the 18 committees, in which the AfD did not have the right to propose, the respective candidates were elected.

Again, the right will probably not get any posts in parliamentary bodies. The Bundestag is the place where the discussion with them must be conducted. Exemplary and fair.

According to parliamentary practice, the AfD would be entitled to preside over important committees, but, as last time, it would not be allowed to do so by the other political groups.

Six leadership positions in the Bundestag will remain vacant in the future – because the AfD candidates will not get a majority in the committees. What does that mean for the work in Parliament?
