ED arrests ghee supplier in TTD adulteration case
The agency said about ₹96 crore in adulterated ghee was manufactured and ₹230 crore was allegedly supplied to TTD through front entities.
- On Friday, The Enforcement Directorate arrested Kailash Chand Mangla, promoter of Sukriti Foods Pvt Ltd, in connection with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams ghee adulteration case for allegedly facilitating adulterant procurement and manufacturing adulterated ghee.
- The investigation stems from an FIR alleging criminal conspiracy and corruption in the fraudulent supply of ghee to TTD between 2019 and 2024, valued at approximately Rs 230 crore, of which Mangla allegedly manufactured Rs 96 crore.
- Investigators claim Mangla used chemicals including Myvacet Soft 400, MG-90, and Monoglycerides to produce the ghee and coordinated supply through front entities like Sri Vyshnavi Dairy Specialities Pvt Ltd and Malganga Milk and Agro Products Pvt Ltd.
- Arrested under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002, Mangla was remanded to judicial custody by a Special Court, while The Enforcement Directorate previously arrested Vipin Jain, promoter of Bhole Baba Organic Dairy Milk Pvt Ltd.
- The agency alleges Mangla maintained false records to disguise the use of adulterants and simulate legitimate production, as the adulterated product was supplied to TTD as Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken action in the alleged adulteration of ghee used in Tirupati Laddus. The ED has arrested Kailash Chand Mangala, promoter of Sukriti Foods. The investigation revealed that the adulterated ghee was prepared by mixing refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, and several chemicals under the guise of pure cow ghee.
