- The candidate committee on Sunday dismissed the challenge alleging John Wahl failed the seven-year residency test, concluding he maintained continuous Alabama residency and meets constitutional qualifications.
- In a narrow 10-9 vote, Gil Isbell said his complaint included 70 pages of evidence and criticized the committee after Joan Reynolds cast the tie-breaking vote.
- The party removed Dean Odle from the ballot under ALGOP sore-loser bylaws and advanced two other ballot challenges for Jesse Battles and Angelo Mancuso to hearings later this month.
- Wahl said the challenge was a political "hit job" mirroring tactics against Tuberville and Donald Trump, noting he qualified just before the Jan. 23 deadline.
