EasyJet to stop flights from Leeds Bradford Airport in 2027
Customers with bookings after Jan. 5 can choose a refund or free transfer as easyJet shifts resources to its busiest routes, the airline said.
On Wednesday, easyJet announced it will cease all flights from Leeds Bradford Airport on January 5, 2027, ending a 16-year presence at the West Yorkshire hub. The withdrawal affects routes to Barcelona, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Belfast, and Geneva.
Focusing on 'most popular' routes, easyJet stated the decision follows a network review and is not a response to weak demand. The move concludes the airline's long-standing partnership with the hub.
Customers with bookings beyond January 5, 2027, are entitled to full refunds or free transfers to alternative airports. EasyJet confirmed it has contacted all affected travelers regarding these options.
Leeds Bradford Airport remains fully active with carriers including Jet2 and Ryanair continuing services. Aviation Director Declan Maguire noted Jet2 will introduce new routes to Preveza and Santorini for summer 2027, maintaining regional choice.
Financial pressures preceded the exit, as easyJet reported a 70% profit decline in July due to rising fuel costs estimated at £105 million. Shortly after, the airline agreed to a £5.7 billion takeover by private equity firm Apollo.
