The United States and Ecuador work side by side to combat drug trafficking, said US Secretary of National Security Kristi Noem on Thursday during an official visit to military bases on the violent Ecuadorian coast. Together with President Daniel Noboa, one of her biggest allies in Latin America, the official inspected the old air base of the city of Manta, from where U.S. aircraft conducted anti-drug flights for a decade (1999-2009).
