Twenty-seven dogs died in a transporter on the way from Barcelona to Mallorca. Miraculously, a few animals survived.
The animals were found by their owners on board the ship, while they had just left the port of Barcelona (Catalonia) to go to the Spanish island of Mallorca.
Initial investigations revealed that the shipping container lacked adequate ventilation.
The Civil Guard continues to investigate the causes of death of 27 hunting dogs that were found dead in the hold of a ship in the port of Palma.
The Royal Spanish Hunting Federation (RFEC) and the regional hunting federations welcome the government's official rebuttal of the false narrative of the mass abandonment of hunting dogs, and have launched actions to demand that the media, public officials, and political organizations adhere to the truth before criminalizing hunters.
