There's a run on self-defense products in the Netherlands. Following the violent death of 17-year-old Lisa in Duivendrecht, manufacturers and sellers of these products have seen a huge increase, according to a survey by RTL Nieuws. The "Smurf spray" X-Marker, for example, is completely sold out. "In just a few days, we sold out of our entire stock of thousands of units. That's actually quite regrettable."
In Middelburg, about eighty to one hundred people participated in a silent bike ride on Friday night for the murdered Lisa (17) from Abcoude. Initiator Caroline Diepeveen, a GroenLinks-PvdA city council member in the Zeeland city, called it a "beautiful statement" afterward.
