Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts wins MLB's Roberto Clemente Award

  • On Oct 27, 2025, Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts was named the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award winner and will receive the award before Game 3 of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium.
  • The 5050 Foundation, started in 2021 by Betts and his wife, focuses on four pillars: physical fitness, mental and emotional health, nutrition and financial literacy.
  • His foundation and a Dodgers partnership donated more than $160,000 to the Brotherhood Crusade, Betts donated $30,000 in Nike apparel to wildfire victims, and the foundation raised $100,000 this past March.
  • The win makes Betts the fourth Dodger to claim the Roberto Clemente Award following Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner, and `It just means the world`, Betts said when nominated in September.
  • On top of his foundation work, Betts helped the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation this year through team partnerships and through this year's postseason has averaged.271/.600/.500 with 13 hits, six RBIs and three runs while aiming to win his fourth World Series title.
