‘Disabled’ train near Union Station causes GO Train delays, suspends UP Express

A rear-car derailment caused signal damage and disrupted GO Transit and UP Express services, with refunds available for delayed passengers, Metrolinx said.

  • GO says trains will travel as far as possible and hold at stations while crews work, with some trips cancelled including the 11:37 a.m. and 1:09 p.m. Allandale Waterfront trains and delays from 25 minutes to over an hour.
  • UP Express is suspended with express buses running between the Union Station Bus Terminal and Pearson Airport, and GO is advising travellers to use TTC routes after contacting a TTC spokesperson around 8 a.m.
  • Crews are working on repairs, but a GO Transit service alert warns delays may last up to two hours and express service is suspended until further notice.
