Dewey Beach Issues New Summer Regulations on Enclosed Beach Structures
In Dewey Beach, a change is in effect this summer for beachgoers. Camping tents, privacy/potty tents or similar enclosed structures are prohibited on the beach, according to the Town's Monthly Newsletter. Town Manager Bill Zolper states that baby tents measuring 36" square may be used. Canopies are also permitted, but may not be set up and left unattended before 9:00am. The lifeguards also have handouts explaining the rules.
