Former president Cristina Kirchner posted a message on her social networks to refer to the historic U.S. Justice ruling in favor of Argentina in the trial for the expropriation of YPF, a decision that will exempt the country from paying US$18 billion. Kirchner said that thanks to this expropriation Argentina has surplus “billions of dollars in the energy balance.”
The Manhattan Court of Appeals confirmed that the 2012 statehood was in accordance with law and dismissed the multimillion dollar compensations demanded for vulture funds. "It is clear that the political decision to recover YPF and our energy sovereignty was strategic for our country," celebrated former president Cristina Fernández.
