1 killed in attack on Crimea as Putin and Zelenskyy hold separate Trump calls
Moscow-installed officials said the strike injured two others as Ukrainian attacks on key infrastructure in Crimea intensify.
On Sunday, a Ukrainian attack on Russian-occupied Crimea killed one person and injured two others, including one in serious condition, Moscow-installed officials said.
President Trump held separate phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday, discussing the war and celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov said Trump reaffirmed his "readiness to help achieve a quick cessation of hostilities," while Putin emphasized a "preference for a diplomatic settlement."
Putin charged that Kyiv and its European allies are "betting on prolonging, and even escalating the conflict," claiming Russian forces are "confidently advancing" toward Kostyantynivka.
Kyiv has denied the Russian claim regarding Kostyantynivka, while Ukraine has stepped up attacks on Crimea infrastructure as the war enters its fifth year.
