Could Sporting KC sign Egyptian, Premier League star Mohamed Salah?
Sporting KC leads MLS interest in Mohamed Salah, but the Liverpool forward still prefers a move to Europe as Saudi clubs also pursue him.
According to The Athletic's Tom Bogert, Sporting has emerged as the top suitor for Salah should the forward make the move to MLS, though several clubs have registered interest.
Salah announced he would leave Liverpool after spending the last decade with the club, citing broken promises and a fractured relationship with then-manager Arne Slot.
Sporting is targeting Toulouse winger Yann Gboho and Olympiacos winger Andre Luiz with deals valued at $18-20 million, as new owner Peter Mallouk pursues high-profile additions.
Salah prefers to remain in Europe, and his move to MLS is "viewed as a long shot due to the Saudi Pro League's heavy interest."
Following the recent Egyptian exit, the veteran remains uncommitted to a destination, though he may look to return to form in Kansas City or elsewhere.
Free from any contract since the end of the season, the legend of Liverpool Mohamed Salah could sign in MLS on the side of Sporting Kansas City according to The Athletic.
