In Côte d'Ivoire, President Alassane Ouattara continues to hold suspense. On Sunday, 22 June, he announced that he would take a decision "in the coming days" regarding his candidacy for the October presidential election, in order to run for a fourth term at the head of the country. An answer expected by tens of thousands of supporters at his party's congress, the RHDP, in Abidjan, the day after his nomination as presidential candidate.
Now inducted, Mr. Ouattara is to speak on Sunday at a big meeting at Ebimpé Stadium, where Côte d'Ivoire had won the African Cup of Nations in 2024.
