Multiple irregularities were detected by the Office of the Comptroller-General of the Republic (CGR) when it audited the expenses and transfers granted between January and September 2024 by the Regional Government of Araucanía, in addition to the Governments of Tarapacá, Antofagasta, the Metropolitan Region, Los Ríos and Magallanes and Antártica Chilena.
The Comptroller's Office found that the Regional Government of Antofagasta (Gore) recorded more than 4.2 billion pesos pending surrender from recipient agencies, i.e. from associations, clubs, groups or foundations that implement projects with public resources.
