- Abdullah asserted the offer included a promise of statehood, while Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary supported the allegation, accusing the BJP of building its politics on "lies."
- National spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi called the remarks "highly irresponsible and condemnable," with the BJP rejecting the claims as "baseless" and demanding that Abdullah either provide evidence or apologize.
- To demand the restoration of statehood, Abdullah announced the National Conference will hold a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 20, seeking to intensify pressure on the Centre.
