An investigation has been launched into former CHP Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem in Bursa on charges of "bribery, establishing a criminal organization, and money laundering." Acting on instructions from the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, KOM teams conducted simultaneous operations against Erdem and 21 other suspects.
Detention warrants were issued for 23 people, including CHP member Turgay Erdem, who served as mayor of Bursa's Nilüfer district between 2019 and 2024, as part of an investigation into bribery, establishing a criminal organization, and laundering assets derived from crime. Erdem was reportedly taken into custody, and teams conducted searches at numerous locations.
