China sentences former government official to death for "selling secrets to foreign countries" again... Enforcement steps being taken since amendment of anti-espionage law

Another former government official in China has been sentenced to death on suspicion of espionage. On March 19, the Chinese Ministry of State Security announced that a former engineer working at a Chinese research institute had been sentenced to death for selling classified state documents to a foreign intelligence agency. A similar sentence was handed down to a former government official in the country in November last year.
