Newly elected US President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing a 10 percent tariff on goods imported from China on top of current rates. He also imposed a 25 percent tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, but he delayed the start of the measure by a month.

China will negotiate with the US from a position of force by imposing tariffs of 10 and 15% on certain products imported from that country from February 10, after the additional charges of 10% imposed by Donald Trump on Chinese products came into force.
