Consumers Warned to Stop Using These Anker Power Banks: See the Full Recall List
CHINA, JUN 30 – China's aviation regulator bans uncertified or recalled power banks on domestic flights after 15 fire incidents this year, doubling compared to 2024, to reduce fire hazards onboard aircraft.
On June 12, 2025, Anker issued a voluntary global recall of about 1.1 million PowerCore 10000 power banks, model A1263, worldwide due to fire risks.
The recall was triggered by 19 incidents involving fires and explosions linked to defective lithium-ion battery cells from one supplier, which resulted in two burn injuries and property damage exceeding $60,000 in 11 cases.
Anker instructed customers to immediately stop using recalled models and verify eligibility via their website using the device's serial number, offering either a $30 gift card or a free replacement power bank model A1388.
The company emphasized proper disposal of confirmed recalled units at certified battery drop-off facilities and is coordinating with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local guidelines during the recall.
Anker stated this recall reflects its commitment to product safety and quality, noting the malfunction likelihood is minimal but recalling devices as a precaution for customer protection.
