BAS-RHIN, GRAND EST, JUL 31 – Chelsea loaned 18-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Paez to Strasbourg to gain first-team experience in Ligue 1, joining two other Chelsea loanees at the club this season.
- On Thursday, Chelsea FC confirmed the season-long loan of midfielder Kendry Páez to RC Strasbourg, a Ligue 1 club.
- After June 2023, Chelsea agreed a €20 million transfer for midfielder Kendry Páez but could not finalize it until May 2025, when he turned 18.
- Emerging in adult football at just 16, Kendry Páez made 70 appearances and scored 13 goals for Independiente del Valle, earning 18 caps for Ecuador since February 2023.
- Joining Mamadou Sarr and Mike Penders, Páez became Strasbourg’s third loanee this summer, completing Chelsea’s allowed quota before the club faces Ligue 1 and Conference League action.
- Kendry Páez will use this loan as his first chance to play in European first-team football, reflecting BlueCo’s strategy to build a coaching and development conveyor belt like City Football Group.
