Portland ended Montreal’s four-game home winning streak after Cole Bassett scored on a rebound in the 75th minute, officials said.
The Portland Timbers secured a 2-2 draw against CF Montreal at Stade Saputo on Wednesday, ending the host team's four-game home winning streak.
Daniel Rios opened the scoring for Montreal in the 11th minute, and Wiki Carmona added a second goal just before halftime as Portland equalized through Kevin Kelsy in the 20th.
Cole Bassett scored the tying goal in the 77th minute, capitalizing on his own rebound after his initial shot hit the post during Portland's sustained second-half pressure.
The draw leaves Montreal with a 4-1-7 record, while the Portland Timbers, coming off a 6-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City, hold a 4-2-6 record.
Montreal finishes a homestand against Chicago on Saturday, while Portland travels to visit Lionel Messi and Inter Miami on Sunday to continue their MLS schedules.
