Government Clears ₹417-Crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Uttar Pradesh Under EMC Scheme
- On June 25, 2025, the Union Government gave approval for a ₹417 crore project under the EMC 2.0 scheme to establish an electronics production hub in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
- This approval followed the EMC 2.0 scheme notified in April 2020 to promote electronics manufacturing and aligns with PM Narendra Modi's vision.
- The cluster will cover 200 acres near prominent transport links and key industrial areas, including zones focused on medical devices, MSME and apparel manufacturing, as well as aviation-related industries.
- IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the project will generate 15,000 jobs and attract ₹2,500 crore in investments while creating world-class infrastructure.
- Officials will work closely with the state government to ensure fast execution, supporting job creation and strengthening India's electronics manufacturing capability.
