- At Marcy Correctional Facility infirmary, Brooks suffered fatal injuries after being transferred from Mohawk Correctional Facility, where he was beaten, authorities say.
- According to the autopsy report, Brooks’ death was caused by 'compression of the neck and multiple blunt-impact injuries', with body cameras capturing the assault by four prison guards.
