- On Wednesday, the Central Board of Secondary Education released tentative datesheets for Classes 10 and 12, announcing exams will start on February 17, 2026.
- About five months before exams, the Central Board of Secondary Education released the tentative datesheet to help students, schools and teachers prepare structured study plans and align activities.
- About 45 lakh candidates are expected, and the exams include written and practical papers across 204 subjects for Classes X and XII from India and 26 countries abroad.
- CBSE set an accelerated evaluation schedule, stating evaluation of answer scripts will begin approximately 10 days after each exam and finish within 12 days, with results announced within 50 to 60 days in past years.
- Reforms introduced by the Board include a mandatory 75% attendance rule and two board exams a year for Class 10, with the second session as a supplementary opportunity.
