VIENNA/LINZ. Police and state protection conducted 15 house searches in the domestic Islamist scene on Thursday in an internationally coordinated action. There were also house searches in Upper Austria.
On Thursday, police and state protection carried out 15 house searches on the domestic Islamist scene in an internationally coordinated action. Three people were arrested – two in Vienna, one in Tyrol.
Law enforcement authorities in Germany and Austria today carried out a large-scale operation against the spread of Islamist propaganda on the internet. In both countries, several house searches were carried out and several suspects, including many young people, were questioned. A similar operation was also carried out in Switzerland.
There were two arrests in Vienna and one in Tyrol. Also 27 judicial institutions were searched. Also in Germany and Switzerland there were missions
